The Lark Rise Bike Ride is back again in 2026! A fun, family-friendly event, this ride takes you through the stunning historic landscape that inspired Flora Thompson’s Lark Rise to Candleford.
With three route options to choose from, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a relaxed ride or a real off-road challenge. The event starts and finishes at Castle Fields, Mixbury, NN13 5RG (it’s best to use the what3words spearing.myself.ribcage) with refreshment stops along the way and a barbecue fundraiser waiting for you at the finish line.
Check-In & Start Times:
Short route (approx. 14 miles): 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM (ideal for families)
Medium route (approx. 25 miles): 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Long route (approx. 40 miles): 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM latest (for experienced riders)
Enjoy a ride through scenic country lanes, ancient tracks, and bridleways, passing through beautiful parkland and rolling fields. The long route even takes you along the edge of Silverstone race track before heading through the breathtaking Stowe Estate.
This event raises funds for brainstrust, a charity dedicated to supporting people affected by a brain tumour. Further registration details for this event are available through their website.
