As everyone looks forward to summer 2022 and booking holidays or staycations, we await the opportunity to welcoming visitors from around the country to Buckingham. The Tourist Information Centre is proud to continue its tradition of being the first point of call for tourism and promoting the Buckingham economy and attractions in the surrounding areas.

From our experience, visitors are always enthusiastic about their visit to the area and certainly get blown away by the abundance of parks and green spaces, independent shops and array of eateries that Buckingham has to offer, arming themselves with maps from us to explore and discover our beautiful town.

At the Tourist Information Centre, we all believe that tourism is of huge importance to the local economy. From buying a coffee at one of our traditional cafes, staying in guest accommodation, enjoying a bit of retail therapy or visiting local attractions, it all adds up and the more we can promote it, the more it helps support our retailers.

So what do visitors ask us for? One of the most popular requests is for information on local walks and general information about the town and its history. Other frequently asked questions include: places to eat and drink, what events are happening and where to park. Our knowledgeable team can help point people in the right direction with the information they need.

Our giftshop and the Old Gaol Museum sell a range of souvenirs and locally handmade gifts that are popular with locals and visitors. Beautifully scented soaps, honey from the hives of bees, art prints and cards from local photographers and artists all produced in and around Buckingham are just some of the products we have on sale which make unique mementos and gifts.

The Discover Buckingham website was set up to increase awareness and encourage people to travel to the town to shop, dine, stay and visit the numerous attractions in and around the town. To help you with your itineraries the website has business listings for local shops, accommodation, restaurants, pubs and attractions as well as event listings, and blogs! If you have a local event, attraction, shop, restaurant or hotel that you would like to add to this website please get in touch.
