“A rare football movie that’s worth a replay” is how the Guardian describes this film, which “replays” an infamous moment in the careers of Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy. Better known for his legendary captaincy of Manchester United, Keane was the star of the Irish football team who qualified for the 2002 World Cup in Japan under the management of Mick McCarthy. Neither men were known to mince their words and the bitter confrontation between them on the eve of the tournament led to McCarthy sacking Keane. Coogan (as McCarthy) and Hardwicke (as Keane) brilliantly portray the tensions and drama of the moment. (Wine will be available at this screening)
