Step into railway history! 

Spend a day exploring 25 acres of fascinating exhibits, interactive displays, and historic steam locomotives. Browse the gift shop and second-hand bookshop, enjoy a coffee or snack in the cafe, and soak up the atmosphere of a bygone era. 

The whole site is open on the Centre’s Museum Days, however there will be no full-size steam train rides on these days (the ticket price is lower to reflect this). There is still plenty to do, however, with 25 acres to explore, including the large railway museum, stunning Visitor Centre and travelling post office carriages. The miniature railway will be running on these days.
