Malkovich plays a wealthy grieving widower who, to ease his broken heart, takes a job as a butler in a French chateau whose owner has fallen on hard times. This place matters to him: here, he first met his beloved French wife, Diane. The star-studded cast includes the grumpy but golden-hearted housekeeper Odile, played by Ėmilie Dequenne.
