Plenty of star quality comedians in this almost farcical comedy of the revival of a marriage. It is loosely based on the career of British comedian, John Bishop, who related to Will Arnett how he became a stand up comic. After several years of marriage, Tess and Alex Novak deliberate on how they will agree to a separation while remaining friends and bring up their two boys. Arnett (co-author of the screenplay with Mark Chappell), plays husband Alex, who finding himself unable to pay the bill at the Comedy Cellar, signs up for a stand-up routine. Tess pursues an ambition to be the volleyball coach for the upcoming Olymics. However, fate intervenes to remind them that they still have a future together.
