I Swear (15) at The Film Place

And not by the Grace of God! Rather by the frustrating struggles of Tourette syndrome experienced by John Davidson. You might be shocked by the opening sequence of Mr Davidson using the ‘F’ word while receiving an MBE. But watch on and lend your ears to his touching story. In 1983, John is a young lad growing up in Scotland pursuing a promising career in football but then involuntary swearing and tics creep into his mannerisms.  Misunderstood by teachers and parents, he treads a downward path until he meets Dottie, an unflappable mental nurse. This is a real-life, feel-good film with smart, subtle comedy. He did, after all, achieve an MBE!
