A Steaming Day at is when they have a full-size steam train in action, ready to take you for a ride up and down their track!
This special community day at Buckingham Railway Centre celebrates our Emergency Services and raises awareness for local charities, clubs and societies from our local community. Our Emergency Services come along and bring their vehicles for visitors to admire (of course, their presence here is subject to emergency call outs, as usual). The whole heritage railway will be open as usual, so visitors can enjoy all the usual fun of a Steaming Day at The Railway!
Please be aware that although the fire service do always send a fire engine, each year they have been here, they have been called out to an emergency at some point during the event. This year, we are hoping for a heritage fire engine or two to come along as well which worked really well the last couple of years!
Special admission price of only £7 each – under 3s go free as usual.
PLUS! Like last year, all Emergency Services personnel (including NHS, Police and fire service workers) get FREE ENTRY! Simply show your work ID when you arrive, but you must pre-book tickets for the other members of your party. This event sells out faster than any other event, so please pre-book to avoid disappointment!
Steam train rides with a full size steam locomotive, see The Railway Museum, ride the Miniature Railway, watch the model trains and visit the Visitor Centre. The gift shop and café will be open!
