BUCKINGHAM OLD GAOL

The landmark building of Buckingham town centre. Restored by the Buckingham Heritage Trust, it contains a fascinating fully-registered Museum, which reflects various aspects of Buckingham's past - including its military history, and presents the story of the Old Gaol. Recent acquisitions include an extremely rare coin which was discovered in close proximity to Buckingham. It is a Gold Half Angel from the reign of Richard III, last of the House of York and the last British Monarch to die in battle. Also coins from the Lenborough Hoard along with the Flora Thompson Collection.
